I’d love to discuss some of the new rules of book design. The rules are: Create a wall, set the floor color, set the shelves to be transparent, and go with a light so you can see the items you’re going to sell. You may want to use something that looks nice on the wall, but it won’t be as easy to make it look like a piece of furniture. You’ll still have to make your own furniture.
I have a few suggestions for that. A piece of furniture, like the bookcase pictured above, is usually made out of some solid wood, so it can be pretty easy to make it look like a piece of furniture. But the rule about the light is definitely worth a try. I mean, if you have a bunch of books that you really want to sell but you don’t want people to see them, you can put them in a box and leave them out.
