It’s a good time of year to shop for furniture for your home. It’s the time to buy up all those cool new tables, chairs, and so on. The big sales are just around the corner, and you’ll be able to splurge a bit more on up-and-coming brands.
It’s not just that the new home furnishing stores are popping up all over town! The trend is for designers to do things that are “bendable” or “flexible,” or both. This means you can buy a chair or table, or a dresser or a TV, and it will fit into your space easily.
And it’s happening to all kinds of things people have been thinking about buying for decades. For instance, we all know that the classic black dining table is out, but can you imagine how many people would have bought an old-school round one? I’m sure it would’ve sold like hot cakes.
This trend is known as “flexible furniture” or “bendable furniture”. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a round table in my life. That’s because round tables are all about taking up space, and it took me forever to get one. I’m not even sure when they first started making them.
A round table is one of the more popular types of dining chairs. The classic round table was made of wood, but they’ve also gone down to plastic, and then even metal. Plastic and metal tables are so much more popular with families.
The round table is good for storing food because it’s very easy to clean (though they’re more expensive). And it’s good because it has a very low profile, which is a plus when it comes to dining.
In heartland furniture’s case, there are a lot of downsides, but for me it’s the down side that’s the most annoying. It doesn’t have a lot of room for the dishes, or for the countertops, so I end up storing all my food in the top. I mean, I have a nice, tall table, but this just feels like a hassle.
The downsides: I have a couple of tables that I use mostly because of the low profile of the table, and the only time I get to use them is when I’m not eating. I might not get to use them when it’s dark, but I still have lots of tables and chairs for which I have a lot of space. Also, I like having a small table at the front of the house.
The game is so different that you’ll sometimes need to have a small table at the front of the house. The more space you need to have, the better it will look. The more space you have, the better it will feel. I’m going to go over this one in a few minutes.
