Naruto’s team is tasked with investigating the disappearance of a Konoha ninja, Naruto comes across what appears to be an abandoned house but as he enters it becomes clear that somebody was actually trying to set up traps for him. Naruto manages to narrowly avoid them all and finds a secret room. Naruto is then attacked by the ninja he was looking for, who has been trying to lure him into this trap all along.
Naruto and Naruto’s team are sent to investigate a hidden village located in the middle of a lake. They meet an elderly man who seems like he doesn’t really want Naruto around, so Naruto investigates by himself. What Naruto finds is that there isn’t actually anyone living here at all!
Toneri captures some Konoha ninja and Naruto gets his team together to save them. Naruto then beats Toneri with the help of a giant tree, but it turns out that Naruto was tricked and is only captured too. Naruto’s friends come back for him though and start fighting Toneri again until Naruto manages to escape on his own by tricking Toneri into letting him go.
Naruto and his group are sent to investigate the new threat of three ninjas that can use kekkei Genkai. Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Sai, Shikamaru, Hinata and Rock Lee all try different things to get rid of these threats but they just keep coming back stronger until Naruto defeats them with a Rasengan.
Naruto and his group find some Konoha ninja trapped in a barrier that Naruto eventually manages to break with help from the nine Tailed Beast inside of him. The ninjas tell Naruto about what’s happening but when they’re attacked Naruto wakes up because this was all just a dream he had while sleeping for three days straight. Naruto is then escorted back to the village by his friends.
Naruto and Gaara are at a meeting about how to stop Akatsuki from capturing all nine Tailed Beasts. Naruto’s idea of using guerrilla tactics doesn’t work so they go with Shikamaru’s plan which involves trying not to be noticed until it becomes too late for Akatsuki to collect any more beasts. Naruto didn’t really like the plan but he trusts Shikamaru so they go with it anyway.
Naruto and his group run into some trouble while trying to stop Akatsuki from collecting all nine Tailed Beasts because Naruto is too slow for guerrilla tactics thanks to his three-day nap, Sakura’s Naruto-sensing abilities, and Naruto’s lack of strategy. Naruto is still trying to come up with a plan when Akatsuki arrives at the location Naruto had previously been staying in for three days straight without knowing that Naruto was there waiting for them all along. Naruto, Sakura, and Sai are then captured by the Akatsuki duo of Konan and Deidara due to Naruto’s lack of strategy.
