1. Figure out the industry you want to work in

After that, you have to figure out the companies that are at the top level in that industry and get all the information about it.

2. Meet their requirements
Once you know what your industry and company you want to apply in, it’s time to start looking at vacancies. If you find one, before sending in your resume, you have to make sure that it is designed in a way that includes everything that the company is looking for.
Maybe they need sketches or some other things that you haven’t put in your portfolio. If that is the case, you need to do so before sending it.
3. Have a great binder and make use of an effective tool
Pick a binder that not only looks nice but also looks professional too. For a beginner, a three or five-page presentation binder will work too. But make sure that it has room for adding or deleting some sketches or illustrations.

4. Take amazing photos

7. Size matter
The size of your portfolio does matter. So, don’t go beyond the standard size which is 9″ x 12″. Don’t go larger or smaller than that.

- Next, show flat sketches that show how your designs will look on a flat background.
