How To Tie Dye?
Materials Needed: Fabric, rubber bands, scissors for cutting the fabric into strips (about an inch wide), cardboard, dish soap or laundry detergent.
There are several ways to tie-dye a shirt without dying it with store-bought dyes, but the most common and simplest is using rubber bands dipped in different colours of food colouring or fabric paint.
Cut your fabric into a square shape and stretch it tightly across something circular that’s about the same size as the fabric
Find a rubber band – these can be found at any hardware store in packs of 100. The tighter you tie them around the cloth, the more intense the colour will be
Wet your fabric with warm water and then add some liquid textile dye. If you want to create a pattern, use rubber bands dipped in food colouring or paint instead of simply dipping the cloth into a bucket of dye
Twist and tie together pieces until it’s all covered in different colours – make sure to tie tightly to avoid getting any paint on your skin
Let the fabric dry overnight and then you’re ready to go!
