Masters of War: The Masters of War are a collective group comprising all master units that belong to one particular faction. This means they have similar abilities and equipment, as well as being led by another master unit in some cases. Their background is also usually quite detailed for each master unit.

The master units are sorted alphabetically in the list below, with links to their entry on this blog if you want more information about them (such as tactics articles and codex entries).

Cadian Shock Troops: Cadian Shock Troops are heavily armed and armoured soldiers from the hive world of Cadia. They form a key part of the Imperial Guard’s ground forces, as well as being one of its most feared units.

Canadian Guardsmen: Cadian Guardsmen are known for their discipline and firepower when fighting on foot in defence or assault roles.

Catachan Jungle Fighters: Catachan Jungle Fighters are the elite jungle warfare troops of the Catachan regiments. They have a reputation for being fearless, tough and deadly in battle.

Catachan Veteran Guardsman: The veteran guardsmen were originally assigned to guard high-ranking Imperial officials on missions outside of Cadian space but now serve throughout the galaxy as master marksmen and snipers.

Canadian Conscripts: Canadian Conscripts are the newest additions to the Imperial Guard, drafted into service in order to replace losses from their deployment on Kronus.

Canadian Grenadier Guardsman: Canadians were brought into the guard due to a lack of qualified grenadiers for most imperial regiments and as a result have developed some of the deadliest grenades within our arsenal.

Canadian Heavy Weapons Guardsman: As the most recent additions to the imperial guard, Canadian heavy weapons guardsmen are often used as shock troops or deployed in support of our heavier units like tanks and artillery pieces.

Catachan Outrider: The Catachans have an unmatched ability to survive in hostile worlds and as a result their outriders act much like cavalry, scouting ahead for enemy encampments or providing rapid response when our forces come under attack.

Grey Knight Paladins of Titan: The Grey Knight Paladins of Titan are one of the only specialist forces that can take on an entire daemon army by themselves.

Scout Sentinel: Scouts are used to gathering long-range intelligence and act as forwarding observers, counter-sniper units, or battlefield scouts for our larger troops.

Tauros Venator: The Tauros Venator is a versatile, all-purpose rapid response vehicle that can be deployed for reconnaissance and pursuit missions as well as shock assaults.

Kroot Carnivores: Kroot Carnivores are fast and very hard to kill, but their most useful trait is that they can be equipped with a variety of weapons depending on the situation.

Krooza Rook: Krooza’s Rooks are used as aerial scouts for our forces or provide air cover when we’re retreating from an enemy attack.
