The Team
The editors behind AreYouFashion — because you deserve to know who is talking, and why they know what they know.
AreYouFashion is written by a small team of editors who care about craft. From runway reporting to the wardrobe columns and the beauty desk, every story carries a byline — because you deserve to know who is talking, and why they know what they know.
We are a compact masthead by design: fewer voices, each with a clear beat and a genuine point of view, rather than a churn of anonymous copy. Meet the editors below — and if you would like to join them, we are always reading pitches on Write for Us.
Uchechi Nwankwo
Uchechi is AreYouFashion's Editor-in-Chief, and she sets the single test every story on the site has to pass: is it honest, and is it useful? She writes on personal style, craft and the quiet discipline of dressing with intention, and she is the team's strongest voice for the idea that a smaller, sharper wardrobe is the most personal thing you own. Beyond her own columns she owns the magazine's editorial standards — how we research, how we test what we recommend, and how we disclose gifting, affiliate links and sponsorship — so what you read is opinion you can trust rather than advertising in disguise. Her particular expertise is personal style and slow fashion: cutting through trends to what genuinely suits a person and their life. She is happiest making fashion feel less like a members' club and more like a conversation between friends.
Amara Diallo
Amara is AreYouFashion's Fashion Correspondent, covering the trends worth your time and — the part most coverage skips — how to actually wear them. Her expertise is translation: taking what happens on the runway, the high street and the resale rail and turning it into outfits that work on real bodies and real budgets. She reports on seasonal shifts, the pieces quietly doing the heavy lifting in a wardrobe, and the difference between a trend worth adopting and one worth skipping. Her approach is clear-eyed rather than hype-driven — she will tell you when something is a genuine upgrade and when it is a repackage of what you already own. Areas of focus: trend reports, runway-to-real-life styling, seasonal edits and budget dressing. Every recommendation is written to be usable on an ordinary Tuesday, not just a front row.
Priya Nair
Priya is AreYouFashion's Wardrobe Columnist, and her specialism is building a wardrobe slowly and well. She writes on capsule thinking, cost-per-wear and the art of choosing a small number of pieces you genuinely love and will wear for years. Her expertise is in fit and value: how a garment is cut, how it is made, and whether it earns its place three different ways before it is worth buying. She favours longevity over novelty and dressing for your real life over an imaginary one, and she is candid about when an expensive piece is worth it and when a cheaper one does the same job better. Areas of focus: capsule wardrobes, cost-per-wear, fit and tailoring, and buying well. If a piece cannot justify itself, she will say so plainly.
Marco Bellini
Marco leads menswear at AreYouFashion, with a firm preference for the understated end of things: good tailoring, honest fabrics and shoes worth resoling. His expertise is in the details that separate a wardrobe that works from one that does not — proportion, cloth, colour and care — and in helping men look considered without looking like they tried too hard. He covers how to buy tailoring that actually fits, how to tell good fabric from filler, and how to look after the pieces you own so they last. His approach is practical and long-term: fewer, better things, maintained properly. Areas of focus: menswear, tailoring, fabrics and shoe care. He would rather help you buy one jacket that lasts a decade than five that do not survive a season.
Grace Adeyemi
Grace runs the beauty desk at AreYouFashion, and her whole job is cutting through the marketing so you do not have to. Her expertise is testing: she tries the routines, ingredients and products people are talking about, then reports back plainly on what delivers and what is overhyped. She covers everyday make-up you can genuinely do in ten minutes, and skincare grounded in how skin actually behaves rather than what a label promises — including how to read an ingredients list and introduce active ingredients without wrecking your skin barrier. She names the misses as clearly as the hits, and she discloses any gifted product or commercial relationship in line with our editorial standards. Areas of focus: skincare, make-up, ingredients and honest product reviews. If something is not worth your money, she will tell you.
Lena Vasquez
Lena is AreYouFashion's Lifestyle & Travel Editor, covering living well beyond the wardrobe: the home you come back to, the trips worth taking, and the small rituals that make an ordinary week feel considered. Her expertise is the practical side of good living — how to make a space feel like yours, how to travel light and well, and how to build routines that hold up in real life rather than only on camera. She writes practical guides and gentle inspiration for people who want a life that looks and feels like them, minus the pressure to perform. Her packing lists are ruthless and her recommendations are ones she would actually use herself. Areas of focus: home, travel, wellbeing and everyday rituals.
Noah Kim
Noah is AreYouFashion's Culture Editor, following the shows, books, music and conversations that quietly shape how we all dress and live. His expertise is context: he is as interested in the why behind a trend as the trend itself, and he is good at connecting what is happening in culture to what ends up in your wardrobe and on your table. He covers film and television, books and music, and the broader currents that explain why a look or an idea suddenly feels everywhere. His approach is curious rather than cynical — he takes pop culture seriously without taking himself too seriously. Areas of focus: culture, film and TV, books and music, and the context behind trends.
Layla Haddad
Layla is AreYouFashion's Food & Drinks Editor, bringing the good-living side of the magazine to the table. Her expertise is approachable cooking that actually works: weeknight recipes you can genuinely pull off, entertaining ideas that look generous without the stress, and the flavours, drinks and rituals worth knowing about. She keeps things unfussy and doable on purpose — testing recipes so the timings and quantities hold up in a normal kitchen, not a photo studio. She believes good food should feel like a pleasure rather than a performance, and she writes for real weeknights and real budgets. Areas of focus: recipes, entertaining, drinks and seasonal cooking.
